Jaén, the capital of the interior paradise
The Jaén Provincial Council proposes in one of its trips for people over 65 years of age a route through the city of Jaén. The route, titled Jaén, capital of the Interior Paradise, focuses on showing us some of its greatest tourist attractions, in addition to offering an interesting walk through the history of the city through its museums.
Jaen Cathedral
The Cathedral of Jaén is the most emblematic building in the city, and an interesting example of different architectural styles, since its construction lasted from the 16th to the 18th century. The guided tour of the cathedral is, therefore, a wonderful starting point for your visit to Jaén.
The Arab baths of Jaén
The second stop on the route is the Arab Baths, facilities of more than 450 square meters that are located beneath the Villardompardo Palace, which has kept them in good condition. Currently they are part of the heritage of the Jaén Provincial Council, like the palace, converted into a Cultural Center.
The Iberian Museum and the Tablas Bridge
In the review of the history of the city, its Iberian period could not be missed, since on the outskirts of the town there is one of the most important Iberian sites in the area: the Oppidum (Iberian town) of Puente Tablas. This town is classified as an Asset of Cultural Interest, with the category of Archaeological Zone. And there is nothing better to complete the visit than also going to the Iberian Museum.
On the route through Otíñar
Finally, this senior route through Jaén takes us to the peri-urban park of Otíñar, where we can take a low difficulty hiking tour.
This park, 12 km from the city, is a common leisure area for residents of Jaén and is equipped for this purpose, with picnic areas, kiosks and play areas for children.
It also has a Nature Classroom where you can learn about the species of flora and fauna in the area thanks to different guided tours.
