The charming municipality of Torremolinos is located in the province of Malaga, in the south of Spain. It is, at the same time, a marina and a coastal place whose main resource is tourism. Of course, the city has numerous places of interest that attract a large number of tourists. Do you want to know how to enjoy the activity to the fullest?

Things you have to know

During a trip through Andalusia, there is the possibility of choosing between the different hotels offered in each location. The ideal is to select establishments close to Malaga airport, 10 km from Torremolinos, or located on a hill, to enjoy magnificent panoramic views!

The city, thanks to its pleasant climate and magnificent coast, is one of the main tourist destinations in southern Spain. It preserves numerous Roman, Greek, Arab and Phoenician vestiges. In the Cortijo del Tajo, for example, you can discover archaeological ruins from the Neolithic and pre-Roman times. Today, the town still has a series of typical places, such as the Barrio de la Carihuela and numerous vestiges of the past, for example, its famous dungeon.

In the old town, you can also admire the Parish Church of Nuestra Señora del Carmen, as well as many examples of noble architecture, such as the Casa de los Navajas. However, the Torre de Pimentel (or Torre Molinos) remains the most important construction in the area and consists of a large defensive tower that gave its name to the city. What to do in Torremolinos?

Without a doubt you have to discover its beautiful beaches located along its coast. Among the most famous are El Bajondillón, Playamar, Los Álamos and La Carihuela. These places offer the opportunity to enjoy numerous leisure activities, such as swimming, practicing water sports (paddle surfing, kayaking, diving... the list is very long!) or sunbathing.

You can't miss the local cuisine based on fresh seafood. You should not miss the opportunity to taste the tasty “fried fish”, especially in the restaurants that are along the beautiful Paseo Marítimo. Afterwards, you can take a walk through the narrow streets of the town and admire some of its beautiful castles, for example, Santa Clara, one of the most imposing. Some cities near Torremolinos are also very interesting to visit, such as Malaga, just 12 kilometers away. This city has a great historical heritage with such famous places as the Alcazaba Fortress or the Gibralfaro Castle.
